Im 2. Teil wird die Ikonographie der Kirche Ste. Madeleine in Vézelay unter diesem Gesichtspunkt untersucht. Dabei sollen die Thematiken und ihre Bedeutungen bzw. derzeit geläufigen Interpretationen einiger exemplarischer Bildszenen dargestellt und bewertet werden. Wie die im nachfolgenden (Kap. three) beschriebene Kirche St. Lazarus in Autun, so ist auch Ste. Madeleine eng mit dem Werk des Bildhauers Giselbertus verbunden.
